Terms of Service
as of 1st January 2011
These terms and conditions constitute the entire Agreement concerning the provision of an Airport Transfer / Local or Long Distance Taxi Service between you and Speedy Minicab.
Completion of any booking and use of the Service we provide indicates your unconditional acceptance of the terms and conditions set out in this Agreement.
|"Speedy Minicab'(s) / us / we"||means Speedy Minicab Taxi Service whose office is based in Wood Green.

|"you" and "your"||means any individual, company or other business who places the booking with North London Minicab.|
|"Booking'(s)"||means an agreed Airport Transfer, Local or Long Distance Journey.|
2.1. These terms and conditions constitute the entire agreement concerning the provision of a Private Hire Vehicle (PHV) service between you and Speedy Minicab.
2.2. Speedy Minicab reserves the right to amend these terms & conditions at any time without notice.
2.3. Establishment of any booking and use of the service indicates your acceptance of the terms & conditions set out in this agreement.
2.4. Anyone who is not a party to these terms & conditions shall not have any right or remedy under or in connection to it.
2.5. No statement or representation shall be relied upon whether implied or actual to grant any right or remedy to either party unless stated and agreed in a separate written contract.
2.6. You agree to fully indemnify Speedy Minicab of from any losses, expenses, damages or liability caused by the negligence or acts by yourself or any passengers.
2.7. You shall be liable for any damage caused by either yourself or any passengers to any of Speedy Minicab' vehicles, whether to the interior or exterior of the vehicle.

2.8. Speedy Minicab shall not be liable for any losses of anticipated revenues, profits or savings of customers whether caused directly or indirectly.
2.9. Speedy Minicab reserves the right to refuse any bookings.
3.1. You are responsible for your own property/luggage. Speedy Minicab shall use reasonable endeavours to locate and return any lost property but shall not be held responsible or liable.
3.2. You are responsible for the safe and secure storage of your property/luggage in transit. Speedy Minicab shall not be liable for any damage to property/luggage in transit caused by unsecure packing or other negligence of the customer or passengers.
3.3. Speedy Minicab will not accept to carry any property/luggage that are illegal to possess, explosive, poisonous, perishable during transit or above £1000 in value whether in a courier service or as part of passengers' luggage.
3.4. If any property/luggage in our vehicles are found to be of those listed in clause 3.3, Speedy Minicab reserves the right to pass them on to the required regulatories, destroy, dispose or return them as we see fit in our absolute discretion
4. AIRPORT BOOKINGS
4.1. You must allow sufficient time when booking your taxi to allow for the check-in times required by your airline and for any delays caused by traffic conditions. Speedy Minicab shall not be responsible for any delay caused by your failure to allow enough time to reach your destination or if the passengers are not ready for collection at the booked time.
4.2. It is down to you to order a suitable car size for the number of passengers and luggage. Speedy Minicab' vehicles cannot carry passengers and luggage beyond their capacity and may have to cancel your booking or incur a fee if there are excessive numbers of passengers or luggage. Please note that a child, no matter what age, counts as one passenger.
4.3. If you need to transport a wheelchair please specify this at the time of booking.
4.4. For all pick-ups from Airports the first 1 hour waiting is free (inclusive of meet & greet, parking fee, terminal entrance fee). Thereafter, there is a charge of £15 per hour waiting fee.
5. QUOTATIONS, PAYMENTS, COLLECTIONS, WAITING & RECEIPTS
5.1. Speedy Minicab will email you a quotation if requested based on the information supplied by you. Speedy Minicab may amend the quotation if there is any material change to the original itinerary, the number of passengers, or the type or size of vehicle required.
5.2. The quotation for a collection from an airport will include a 45 minute waiting period after the agreed collection time made at the time of booking, or the Planes landing time if your flight has been delayed.
5.3. Speedy Minicab will charge for waiting at its standard rate of £5.00 per every 15 minutes after the initial 45 minute period has expired. Speedy Minicab will always check for flight delays before the driver leaves for the airport but can only rely on the information supplied by the Airports websites.
5.4. If your plane lands earlier than the scheduled landing time, Speedy Minicab will still collect you at the agreed collection time that was made when the booking was confirmed.
5.5. If your plane lands later than the scheduled landing time, Speedy Minicab will change your collection time to 30 minutes after the plane has landed.
5.6. Once you have accepted our quotation, Please check your booking confirmation carefully and inform Speedy Minicab promptly of any errors. Speedy Minicab shall not be responsible for any delays caused or costs arising from/by your failure to provide Speedy Minicab with correct information.
5.7. All journeys originating at an airport (which are not return journeys where Speedy Minicab has taken you to the airport) must be prepaid in full at least seven working days before the date of travel. (Unless booked within seven days of travel or otherwise agreed)
5.8. If an Airport collection is agreed without pre-payment, and you have missed your flight or booked the incorrect date / time. The full fare will be due and an invoice will be sent to you. (see point 5.5)
5.9. All Car parking charges shall be paid on the day of collection from the airport by the customer unless otherwise stated / agreed in advance.
5.10. Payment can be made by Cash or Cheque with a valid Guarantee Card.
5.11. Please note that Card transactions of up to £59.99 will carry a standard £3.00 surcharge.
5.12. Payment by cheque must be made at least 7 days before the date of travel.
5.13. A full receipt can be emailed direct to you or a hand written business card size receipt can be supplied by your driver. *Please note that an emailed receipt can take up to 48 hours if asked for on the day of travel to your driver*
5.14. First 10 minutes waiting of the driver at pick-ups is free. Thereafter, there will be a charge of £15 per hour.
6. GENERAL VEHICLE CONDUCT
6.1. You shall be responsible for the behaviour of all the passengers in the car / vehicle during the journey.
6.2. You will be charged £80.00 to cover cleaning costs in the unlikely event of the vehicle being soiled by any passenger.
6.3. Smoking is not / never permitted in any of our vehicles.
6.4. Eating / Drinking in our vehicles is not permitted.
6.5. In certain circumstances, i.e for babies or Medical reasons, some Foods / Drinks may be permitted with prior permission.
6.6. All children travelling during the journey should be restrained in a manner appropriate to their age, weight and height. Suitable child seats should wherever possible be supplied and fitted by the child's parents / guardians. Such seats may be retained by the driver for use on the return journey.
6.7. Speedy Minicab will not carry more passengers than its insurance or licensing allows.
7. CANCELLATIONS FOR ANY CONFIRMED BOOKING
7.1. If you need to cancel your booking, please contact Speedy Minicab as soon as possible.
7.2. All bookings that are cancelled 24 hours prior to the agreed collection time will not incur a penalty charge. Speedy Minicab call this the 24 hour cut off point.
*Although if the fare has been pre-paid, a 10% administration charge will be deducted from your refund*
7.3. All bookings that are cancelled 12 hours prior to the agreed collection time will incur a 50% charge of the agreed fare.
7.4. All bookings that are cancelled within 12 hours of the agreed collection time will be 100% fully chargeable and no refund will be offered. (As the time slot was booked, agreed & confirmed by you, Speedy Minicab would have reserved this time and not taken in anymore bookings)
7.5. If you have made a booking and not pre-paid for the journey, In the event of cancelling the booking within the 24 cut off point, an invoice will be sent for any outstanding amounts / fare.
7.6. All invoices for non account customers must be paid within 7 days. (Failure to pay any invoice will result in Speedy Minicab taking legal / court action. Speedy Minicab would also make other Taxi companies aware of the situation resulting in you being possibly black listed from using other Taxi companies in the area. Please note that all unpaid invoices will incur a 10% charge of the original invoice amount, every 30 days from the invoice date.
7.7. If you cancel a booking via email, Speedy Minicab cannot guarantee an immediate reply / response to you. If a cancellation is made via email prior to Speedy Minicab's 24 hour cut off point, it is only valid if you receive a confirmation reply from us.
7.8. Speedy Minicab would always advise customers to phone us on our contact numbers and cancel with one of our booking agents who can then send you a confirmation email.
(Please note that cancellations are not accepted by leaving a message on our voicemail)
7.9. Refunds shall be made by either cash or a Speedy Minicab Company Cheque.
7.10. Refunds by Cheque can only be made out to the Customers name who made the original booking.
7.11. If the car breaks down during your journey Speedy Minicab will endeavour to arrange an alternative car to complete the journey as soon as practable / possible.
7.12. Neither party excludes or limits its liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for wilful default or fraudulent misrepresentation or otherwise in any manner unenforceable by any applicable law.
8.1. Speedy Minicab will refuse or terminate any booking with immediate effect if it places any driver or vehicle at risk of damage, violence or abuse by you or by any passenger in your party and will ask all passengers to vacate the vehicle as soon as it is safe to do so.
8.2. No refunds will be given if the journey is terminated part way through the hire.
8.3. If a journey is terminated part way through by you or us and has not been pre-paid, the full fare will be due and then must be paid to your driver.
8.4. If a journey is terminated part way through and we are not paid the full fare, an invoice shall then be sent to you.
9.1. Speedy Minicab may subcontract its obligations under this Agreement. You shall not assign, transfer or delegate any of your rights or obligations under this Agreement.
9.2. Speedy Minicab may change these terms and conditions at any time by posting changes online. Please review these terms and conditions regularly to ensure that you are aware of any changes. All existing bookings will be at the rate quoted or applicable rate in effect at the time of booking.
9.3. Speedy Minicab shall store, process and use all information regarding your personal details in accordance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998.
9.4. This Agreement and any accompanying quotation represent the entire agreement between you and Speedy Minicab in relation to its subject matter. If there is any discrepancy between the terms of this Agreement and the quotation, the terms of this Agreement shall prevail.
9.5. Nothing in this Agreement is intended to confer any benefit on any third party, whether pursuant to the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 or otherwise, and no third party shall have the right to enforce any rights under this Agreement except where otherwise agreed in writing.
9.6. Speedy Minicab' standard rate of £5.00 per every 15 minutes waiting, shall be due in the event of a driver kept waiting after any agreed collection time on any booking.
9.7. Point 8.6 does not include Airport collections. See point 3.2
10.1. This Agreement shall be construed in accordance with English law and you and Speedy Minicab each agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts in respect of any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with this Agreement.
11. CONVEYING OF CHILDREN
11.1. UK law states that taxis are exempt from legislation relating to children travelling in a baby / Child seat or booster. For Health and Safety reasons Speedy Minicab are unable to provide any form of child seat. However, if you are booking a return journey and have your own child seat, the driver who carries out your booking will store your child seat for the return journey, please note that the installation of the child seat must be carried out by you.
11.2. Please note that under section 444 of the Education Act 1996, it is the responsibility of parents and guardians to ensure that the children attend school and this includes the necessary travel arrangements. The law does not treat children/adults with Special Educational Needs (SEN) differently from other children in this respect. However, responsible person requires an escort service from Speedy Minicab. This can be arranged by Speedy Minicab within reasonable time.
12. PRIVATELY HIRED SCHOOL SHUFFLE SERVICE
School shuffle service can be arranged privately by filling out "School Shuffle Service Form" and "Medical Protocol Form". This form must be completed and signed by persons aged over 18 years (parents/guardian).
13. SPECIAL EDUCATION NEEDS (SEN) CHILDREN/ADULTS TRANSPORTATION WITH ESCORTING SERVICES
What is escorting service?
Escorts are expected to supervise peoples with SEN while they are being transported from one place to another or vice versa. This supervision includes
• Making sure that the peoples being transported do not distract the driver whilst the vehicle is in motion.
• The people(s) behave in a suitable manner whilst in the vehicle.
• Appropriate physical contact with people(s) to enable comfortable entry and exit from the vehicle(s).
• Not leaving people(s) unsupervised on a vehicle. To enable supervision parents or responsible adults are expected to escort SEN people to and from the vehicle each day.
• Escorts must sit in the back of the vehicle with the people(s) and not in the front with the driver.
• As each SEN passenger requires one escort, and taking clause 5 into account, a total number above 4 passengers will require a vehicle larger than saloon. The corresponding quote for vehicle type will be applied.
Note: One escort is sufficient to accompany SEN children under the age of 12. Above the age of 12, each SEN passenger will require one escort to accompany them.
14. ACCOUNT CUSTOMERS
14.1. It is a condition of this agreement that invoices shall be paid in full within 30 days of issue thereof. Should any invoice not be paid within 30 days any outstanding invoices shall immediately become due and payable.
14.2. Without prejudice to the Company's rights hereunder all monies due to the company in respect of provision of the Services which are not paid by the due date for payment shall bear interest on the balance of such monies due from time to time at the rate of 3% per month until payment is received by the Company in respect thereof.
14.3. The Customer shall not be entitled for any reason to withhold payment of monies due to the Company and in particular shall not be entitled to do so in circumstances where the Customer is in dispute with the Company and/or claims money or compensation from the Company in respect of the Services.
14.4. If you have reason to believe that your Account details have been obtained by another without consent, you should contact Speedy Minicab immediately to suspend your Account and cancel any unauthorised orders or payments that may be pending. Please be aware that orders or payments can only be cancelled up until provision of Services has commenced. In the event that an unauthorised provision commences prior to your notifying us of the unauthorised nature of the order or payment, Speedy Minicab accepts no liability or responsibility and you should make contact with the third party service provider detailed in or Speedy Minicab will suspend provision of Services and the withdrawal of any scheduled payments pending investigation. Following investigation, it shall be determined whether or not to cancel the Services and make a full or partial refund of the payment.
14.5. At any time of opening the Customers account with the Company, the Company may set a limit on the total amount which may be outstanding as unpaid on such account at any one time. The company may in its discretion refuse to provide the Services in the event of this limit being exceeded.
14.6. All account customers will be liable to an administration fee to cover the costs of banking, invoicing and mailing. The administration fees are broken down as follows:
